I am looking for suggestions on a fix for a problem.
I have an older Pro Pointer (Black) that has been giving me problems.
At first when I powered it on, it would not always come on and sometimes when I powered it off, it would not always turn off. I figured it was the switch so I ordered a switch and replaced it. This seemed to work great for a few weeks. The switch was very responsive and I figured I had it fixed. But now it is starting to do a similar symptom.
This time however when I turn it on, I have to wait about 5 seconds, then the light comes on and I am ready to go.
Yes a fresh battery has been installed.
Is it maybe the rubber piece breaking down and not allowing the switch to turn fully on?
I suppose I can slip off the rubber piece and try it but was wondering if this has happened to any one elses pointer.
YES the pointer is old and YES maybe I should get a new one BUT when working, it serves me well and at the moment, I don't have a spare hundred bucks.
Thanks All

I had similar issues. Replacing the rubber fixed the issue.

Contact Garrett and they will pretty much replace it for a new one for 40-50 bucks or so.
