Do you have permission to search at Ft Elliot? Wish I did. I hear
good finds have come from there. I know someone who has a big
display of keys found at the fort. It's only 35 miles from me but I
could never swing an invite. Old Mobeetie is another great place
to visit. The old courthouse still has the "hanging room" inside.
There are lots of displays of the old days. I helped a co-worker
build some fancy shelves for the courthouse years ago. Mobeetie
was called "Hide Town" when the buffalo hunters used it a base
to wipe out the last of the horizon to horizon bison herds and
sent the hides back East. lastleg

Yep, justice was administered quickly in the good old days. Now you could
die before the murderer is given the needle. Families of victims (remember
them) could move on knowing the guilty wouldn't. lastleg
