Ha You All,

A while back, I found a shovel I liked a whole lot… It’s
made in tha US, and it is really light and tha tempered
steel is really strong. After I cut tha metal part down tha
way I wanted it, it weighed just over 16 ounces.

After I used it a couple of times, tha handle collapsed?
It sprang back, but it just collapsed easier after that. I
was bumbed..

I went back to my old shovel for a while.

Well, last night I decided to fix it……..

Tha new handle is hickory with a ¼” by 3 ½” long bolt.
It still weighs just over 16 oz, but it’s shorter at 21 ¾”.
Nice carrying size.

I put a hole in it so if I want, I can put a small loop and
carry it with a clip.

Or I can leave off tha loop and use my hanger.

I used it earlier today and it works great so far.

Hope this will be my long term solution.

Thanks For LOOkin,

tabdog,, that is a very nice fix ..looks like it is way better than the original handle anyway..did you carve the shovel part itself too? that is great work.. thanks for showing ...

You might just get some business now! I like it. Did a similar thing with what I think was the same original shovel. Only it has a slightly longer, lighter straight handle.

Nice job on the handle. Better than sheet metal.
I like your hanger also.
