Capt SE has to have the record for cut silver. He seems to find at least one every other time he goes out.

Here's my worse ever.
I just posted these the other day, in "Todays finds", in the "Counterfeit Seated Quarter" thread, for reference.
And now here's a "real" thread for them to be in! lol.
One was an 1890 Seated dime, and the other was a 19 something Barber dime.
Found about 3 feet apart, in a burn-pit area behind a VERY old home.
The seated dime was a particularly "crushing" blow to my metal detecting ego/heart that day. :'( LOL!

8) RR Xing fatalities. Squished by a choo-choo. Bummer! :icon_scratch:
The two center coins are Chinese $10 and $5 modern coins The 6 outer ones are from a local RR Crossing where kids often set cions. Remember doing that?

I gotta be honest here folks! You've got some ugly coins!!!!!

Buzzard, I also have a couple of melted coins. I just took a pic and will post later.

CROCK, Maybe it had been wrapped in Duct tape.

Tabdog, I think you got the ugliest ones so far :icon_king:, and they are probably the newest ones. Detectorists of the future just won't be finding as many pennies as we do now.

Here are my two melted coins that I mentioned earlier. I cant tell what they were, but I think one was a quarter and the other a dime. I found them at a site where a church had burned.
