I have permission to hunt an old scout camp that is still in use, so I go early spring or late fall. That way I am not there when the campers are. Last year I found a few wheaties, a couple Mercs and Rosies and an undated SLQ. Figured I had it pretty hunted out, but I went back there a couple days ago. The temp here was 40, and high winds made it very cold out, so I needed a place to hunt out of the wind. The camp has a lot of trees, so thats where I went. After about 1/2 hour, I coudn't believe it! A 1913 Barber dime!! That is the oldest coin I have found at the camp so far. Also found 2 clad dimes, a memorial penny and a '53 wheat. Made for a pretty good day.

NIce find. Hunting a scout camp would take a lot of time to hunt. I sure there is a lot of places to hunt. Take your time and hunt it all...Matt

no WAY a camp would be hunted out, with a place that big you should be able to hunt it for years to come
