I keep mine in the trunk most of the summer and heat doesn't seem to bother it but I don't live in the hottest climate either.

I keep mine in the car and have not had a problem. The cold is more of a problem at least for the ACE it is.

Not a problem Gary...I think most of us do. Never bothered my DFX. and my 6000 has been in a car trunk many years....gotta take it out someday and see if it works still...... :icon_scratch:

My Explorer doesn't seem to have an issue with spending the summer in the trunk.

When it's hot, I make sure the detector is in a case and lay it on the floor of the back seat where it's shaded mostly and leave a window or two open slightly for ventilation. Haven't had a problem and I think they'll stand a fair bit of heat, but I don't think a build up of very high temperature would be beneficial so I try to avoid that.
My two bits.

My ACE 250 wouldn't work after being kept in my car trunk last summer. I'll be sending it in for repair in the next couple of weeks. Don't know if it's heat related or just got knocked around during normal driving.

In PA where you are, probably not a problem. What tears them up is being in an air conditioned car and then subjected to hot air.Condensation forms and wrecks havoc on them.
