One of those "I can't believe it happened" stories...

I was detecting a field near a busy road, beside the road is a paved farmers field access road. I had a bottle of water at the end of the field in a hedge line and took a water break after each run up and down the field as it was a beautiful warm day. Today is a holiday in Germany and there was not much traffic and along the farmers road were just a few passers by. I was about 150 meters/yards away from the end of the field when an older woman and man were bicycling by, they watched me and the woman stopped at my water bottle and picked it up. I yelled at her and said that's mine, I know she heard me but she emptied the bottle out in front of my face, stuffed the 1.5 liter/quart plastic 25 cent deposit bottle in a bag and into her basket and took off on her bike. Her husband was too far ahead of her to realize what she had found. I went from a bit of laughter to anger and decided to chase the water bottle thief down based on principle. So I took off running to the jeep. Pant, pant, put the detector in the jeep, got turned around and chased after the plastic water bottle thief. I caught up to her, accused her and said I saw you take it. She denied everything, even being near the field, I could see my bottle in the bag and several Red Bull cans good for deposit money in her basket. I laughed in disbelief and drove off. Just thought I would share this funny story that happened today, LOL. Got a few finds as well and will post them later. HH, Mike

Pee in an empty Red Bull can and set it there for her to find. Just a thought. ::)

I can laugh easier a day later as I realize she was doing her own treasure hunting by picking up the worthy litter along the roads, not that we have much but litter is there. HH, Mike
