What out of circulation coin would you like to see replace its modern version?

Consider it looks exactly like the original, but with modern dates starting in 2010 and not made of

The old pennies are my favorite.

Forgot to add that the coins would not be made of silver. Ha ha ha. Never thought of that! That would make them my choice too!
In that case, make it the indian head cent unless it's a zincian cent. ;D

I would love to see the Mercury dime restored in place of the Roosevelt dime.

(I'd like to see 90% silver restored, too!)

Not even close!

I didn't vote in this pole, as I would like to see a Flying Eagle...

Re: What out of circulation coin would you like to see replace it's modern versi

My issue is not so much with modern designs but the relief at which they are struck. The state quarters, new design nickels and cents are all so flat, with little relief. What I like about coins made before the early 80's is the higher relief.

It was hard to choose just one design.
But certainly my lineup would be these designs, struck in their original relief, not modern "flattened" versions:
Indian Head Cent
Buffalo Nickel (incuse date to prevent wearing off)
Mercury Dime
Standing Liberty Quarter (also with incuse date)
Walking Liberty Half
Peace Dollar (downsized to current dollar size, plain rim) in conjunction with the elimination of the paper dollar.

I also favor bringing back the $2.5 and $10 Indian Head Gold Coins. These could be base metal coins, maybe making the $2.5 a $2 coin and the $10 coin a $5 denomination.
