I needed some extra cash so I cleaned my clad that I have found this year. Put it in my tumbler and when it was all done. Took it to the bank and cashed it in for a total of $108.43 not bad for for the year. So do you keep track on how much you find. I still have all my rings still have not cashed them in......Matt

It has been better than a good first year MDing for things other than gold nuggets, which I have done for many years. The place that I was keeping for us when you came up this week was a hottie. I got over 200 coins in a 6 square foot area when I hit it twice yesterday. My knees and bending forced me to quit both times as there is about a 100 square foot area left to do.......

At first i kept count of the clad. Now, it only gets in the way of my search for oldies. I will only stoop to dig a quarter hit.
I try to keep in mind I could possibly miss an old coin that is at shallow depth. ffd

Found clad quarters become a 'petty cash' fund at my house. And for each $20 of gas we buy with a bill, we add $2 in found 'junk' change; makes us think we're getting a discount-and it keeps my collection of non-silver coins at a manageable level.

I keep a spread sheet of my finds, hours hunted etc just because I have the time to do it. It also helps me remember places I have only hunted once but will look back and say to my self Oh dang, I need to go back there. Anyways, I have found $180 in clad this year. I have found 174 silver dimes and 32 silver quarters along with over 1000 wheaties, 22 indians, a V nickel, a large cent and 7 silver rings. Its been a good year. TMAN...

Did I read that right; you've found over 1,000 wheaties this year?
If so, that has to be a TNet all-time one year record; maybe even a metal detecting record.
Don.......

Yeah, I have found over 1000 wheaties this year but it isnt a record. McNickel and GOIO also have found at least that many this year. They are my two hunting buddies. TMAN...

Gas and batteries cost more than what I've made, at least in clad. Subtract from that the cost of my flip flops that someone stole from me today.....

I hope whoever took 'em developes back trouble from walking in flip flops broken in to MY feet.
