How do you start a metal detecting club?

I am wanting to start a metal detecting club in my area. There are none in the immediate area. Have had some express interest, and I would like to spearhead this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

First you need people that detect and would come to a meeting. When you are asking people tell them where you are going to meet at ask them to bring items that they have found to show others. You can get the radio station in your area to announce it for you. Then when the weather is nice have places set up for all of you to go to and detect. Then at the next meeting have them bring their finds after a good cleaning to show what was found there......Matt
