    While I was teaching in John Day several years ago, found several leads for your area. You might be surprised how many treasure stories are from Pendleton, Pilot Rock, John Day, Umatilla Landing, etc.

    Haven't heard of Umatilla Landing? Need to do some research on it: once one of the largest "towns" in Oregon during the early gold rush days.
