Sounds interesting, but because our Nazi government officials with their hands in the Federal Reserve Banks will find some way to prevent it.

There has been ALOT of talk in South Carolina about secession over the last 7 or 8 years. It's been aired on the local news station here several times. Save your mini-ball finds boys, you may need them.

I think that politician should pay more attention to the immediate needs of the citizens they were elected to represent instead of seeking notoriety with the press.

However much we may not want to admit it, it is a legitimate concern of thinking people. The Federal Government has spent us into a crisis. We are probably going to lose our status as the worlds reserve currency in the next 1 to 2 years. Our unfunded obligations (debt+medicare+medicaid+social security) will top 100 TRILLION in that same time period. There is no way to pay that amount of money, even if you took every dollar that every person produced in this country for YEARS. There is a serious possibility that the US Government will end up having to DEFAULT on its debts and, like every good Ponzi scheme, yell "START OVER!". If and when that happens, the very few states that have been fiscally responsible might indeed want to have their own currency ready to go. It might even work. :dontknow:

Re: Independent States of America Versus United.

You cannot solve a problem effectively by creating another.

Effort should be made on fixing the problem rather than focusing energy on a back up plan of independence.

Oh by the way, if you are a federal employee working towards retirement or a federal retiree and you support this direction, you better consider what happens to your retirement when the Federal Government goes insolvent because no one wanted to tackle the issue at hand. Oh and uh, Social Security is a federal program too.

It will take some serious fiscal belt tightening to fix the problems of past politicians (both parties). Something that present politicians don't want to do as it would make them unpopular and shorten their political careers. Lots of tough choices, but no one wants to step foward and make them.

Just an opinion from the peanut gallery. :icon_pirat:

That might be a good solution for SC but, can you imagine trying to buy something from out of state, like on E Bay. The confusion over various currencies issued by many states would be insurmountable!
The solution is to cut all programs, Grants, pork from the budget and start over with zero base budgeting. Start the budget over with our commitments to ourselves like Social Security and the original Medicare. Allow no foreign aid until all is caught up here. We need someone in office with some real "marbles" down there or up there. We don't need a show pony in office.
That's just my view and when I am elected,I will carry it thru! LOL

There is a whole list of States that are thinking of leaving the Union . It's a shame that it has to come to something like this to get the Federal Government cleaned up . It just keeps getting worse not better .
And this time they are not going to be able to bring the States back into the Union like the did last time .

I saw in the news at our home state of Missouri that they had or were passing a bill to make it so they could leave the union .
This is just about unbelievable what is happening .

the SC money issue could work - if they just did one thing, based it on silver rounds/gold. it's got value that would work like any currency- just look at what it's worth online. a round is about $40- and half a round would be able $20 and ect ect ect. since it's silver who wouldn't take it...and state of Utah's government offices just said they would be ok taking taxes in the form of silver or gold -if the buyer decided they wanted to not pay in worthless federal counterfeit* reserve notes. *yep they are all fake money with out backing anything in silver or gold!!!

ok - now my opinion on this - since 1913 the federal reserve has had one job, to keep the currency from devaluing - and since 1913 the dollar has lost 93% of it's value- they suck at their job and they are printing money (ie meaning congress is borrowing money from the fed at interest) so fast that if they taxed everyone -man, woman and child at 100% we mathematically can not afford to pay it all back to the federal reserve thanks to compounded daily interest. If we kicked the federal reserve and the UN out of our country that would be a fine day for America - as it is, I've seen it here posted, civil war is right around the corner again.... :o

yeah I know my tin foil hat is on too tight, but you know what Alex Jones is right, Ron Paul is right- direction of government is wrong, over and over people keep saying it... :'( and just think, oil/gas isn't going up, our dollar is going down....

This is what our new Gov. is doing now here in MI and it isn't working he's cutting alot of things and wants the retired folks to start paying taxes on their SSI the only ones getting a tax break are the big companies which is bs. He's cutting school funding, laying off teachers, closeing State Police posts, cutting higher Edu.funding you name it and people aren't happy.
