Everytime I log into TNET, which is quite often it seams to be poking along like an old Grandmother driving here Model A to a small town grocery on a week day ??? ???I have high speed Roadrunner and I zip right through on other sites. First we experience a week or better of "down time" with 2 blackouts and after that it just seams that it hasn't been running right since ???

I saw this a few weeks ago , and there are some days that I just go on to something else as it takes to long for post to open or to post.
I have had double post trying to go as it took so long that the browser tried to resend.
Don't know what the issue is but it does seem to be getting worse over time , I wonder if the server is going down or if
the software is messed up and having to do a rebuild quite often .

I will have it on the live page and I think all is quite , then I will get 10 or more scroll onto the page at once. And like you this is the only site that is doing this. I have a 50 meg connection and it is really fast . I guess they will get this worked out when they see what is up.

I worked in electronics for 32 years and sometimes weird problems crop up that defy the imagination. The equipment that I worked on was actually designed by computers and the troubleshooting was by computer. Sometimes you were led down the primrose trail. That is your trouble shooting went full cycle and you wound up back where you started on the computer checks. You then shifted into SWAG mode until you fixed it. I think this one is in the SWAG mode.

Well, it's fast on the opposite side of the planet, so I am assuming it's not the server.

Can all of you post your browser types?

Maybe there's some commonality there I can address...

Using http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test?domain=http://forum.treasurenet.com

I see it responding in 1/10th of a second per kilobyte. (less than 5 seconds to load)

Let me guess, you are all using Microsoft Explorer, and NOT running in compatibility mode.... (try changing that)

Thanks.

Marc,
Internet Explorer here. Mine took 6.57 seconds to load. That is honestly pretty fast compared to other times. Maybe we have been hitting high traffic volumes? :dontknow:

There may be a black hole router in between some of us and the server.
I have to say though that this is not a issue every day. Most days it is just fine here.

Were is this server located ? What state.

Resourses are being maxed out at times, I have bumped into the "server is under extreme stress, try again in a few minuters" message a several times lately......

Possible it would help if the search option was for Charter members only....I know a search takes a lot of resourses and no telling how many people are searching at the same time, it would bring in more charter member revenue too as search is a valuable tool....

Treasure_ Hunter, I notice you are a charter member. Did that influence your opinion? I was thinking about charter membership but the form spiral is headed the wrong direction, at least in the US.

One of the main reasons I am a charter member too is for the use of the search option.

I run IE and use Comcast high-speed cable....very fast for me.

I thought search was just for charter members? Did that change? Been a charter member for several years so wouldn't know if everyone uses search now or not.

No it didn't influence my opinion, it use to be you had to be a CM to use the search option.. My comment was only a thought if the reason the site is having problems has anything to do with the site resourses being stressed...

I became a charter member just 3 week after joining TN, I saw all the site has to offer and decided I wanted to help support TreasureNet. I have given charter memberships as gifts as well as anonymously as have some other charter members...
