Buttons are always a welcome find. There's a really good post from Buckleboy on cleaning buttons. Don't know if you have seen it or not. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,165857.0.html I don't use any water at all on buttons. Not even for an initial cleaning. The water washes away any contrast on the backmark. I'll rub them with the flat side of a toothpick and then rub with my fingers. The oil on your fingers will really make the contrast stand out. If you're finding a lot on the same site that is a good sign. Hunt that place to death.
