19th Century Race Track

Pretty sure I'm the first to hit this place on private land about an hour out of Roanoke. Used to be an old horse racing track back in the day. Should produce something. Let you know tomorrow night!!

Hay, I found one too. Just got permission to search on Tuesday. There's also a 200 year old house on the property. Let you know if I find anything interesting. Frank

Many years ago, after reading about Ghost Towns in Nevada and doing some additional research, I took the wife on a week's trip to several of these towns. The primary target was under the bleacher section of where the old race track used to be. The trip paid for itself. Of course 'back in the day' the bleachers were all made of wood.

I bombed out on the race track. It turned out to be a workout track. "read no spectators". The 200 year old house was used by poor tenant farmers. It was loaded with nails and bits of scrap iron all at least 6" down. Unlimited targets, but ! I dug for 4 1/2 houres and did not find one coin. Some days you win and other days are like this one. But there's always tomorrow. Frank

Don, you don't have a pocket full of 8 sided coins yet, or was it 6 sided?
