Has anyone ever heard any treasure tales about Antarctica ??.

While reading an old magazine i came across some info about something in Antarctica that could be considered a historic treasure, not really a cash value treasure, but still valuable none the less. Then after doing a bit of further reseach i came across some info about rich mineral resources, as well as a couple of other possible historic value targets. So i was wondering if anyone on here has ever heard of any treasure tales about Antarctica ??. I am not a charter member so i cannot do a search on tnet. but perhaps someone else may be able to and pass me a link if anything comes up. Thanks.

As more and more of Antarctica melts, many many meteorites are being found. By going to:
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/index.php

you should be able to find the most recent recoveries for Antarctica. Since 1995 there have been international yearly trips there, and literally hundreds of specimens are being picked up, sometimes literally on top of the ice.

Lobsterman, It would really help if you mention the names of the treasures! How can anyone help you if the don't know what you are talking about? I am sure that no one here is going to run down to Anartica and try to beat you out of a find. If they had that much info. the find might be long gone. Think about it. We trade info here. We don't come on and give nothing and expect to drain out all the info we want. You can search almost anything using many search engines.
OK here's my favorite which coveres all states. http://wwwgwizit.com/treasure

Oh come on now, don't start that global warming BS with me !!!. Man made global warming and climate change has been proven repeatedly to be a complete Lie that is being used to push a corrupt political agenda !!!. Also... I have photographic evidence of over 300 acres of bare ground in Antarctica in 1947. But that is a good idea about the meteorites (although it seems the value of those have dropped greatly in the past few years) maybe because of all the fakes being sold lately.

Obviously you don't care to believe in the preponderance of scientific evidence. You are not required to. Guess you haven't heard of the Ross Ice Sheet calving an iceberg the size of Delaware.

OTOH, if you don't agree with GW, perhaps meteorite hunting in Antarctica is not for you. If ice fields are growing there, increased ice depth would be hiding meteorites, not exposing them.

At one time, Antarctica was semi-tropical, based on fossil evidence.

As for the value of meteorites, they have continued to increase dramatically with the end of many of NASA's flights. Darn little chance of finding anything new from collecting sprees to the Moon, and Mars is still too far for anyone to go and return.

The cost of finding new meteoritical material is therefore more in demand, not less. Even material from Siberia's multi-ton Sikhote-Alin shower are now commanding premiums.

There are old whaling camps there that are basically near perfectly preserved ghost towns since nothing goes bad or rots in the cold, but I'd think they are better left as is.

Yes the glaciers are melting and they have been since the last ice age 15,000 years ago.
yes, the ocean levels are rising, and they have been since the last ice age approx. 15,000 years ago.
yes, the glaciers are melting, but it is not because of any impact caused by man or industry.
yes, the planet is a tiny bit warmer than it was 40 years ago, because of the earths cyclical (approx. 40 years cycle's ), eliptical revolutions around the sun.
yes, there are also fluctuations of the earths rotation on it's axis, that can greatly effect weather.
yes, the earths rotation in context to the equater was situated much differently 2 mil. years ago.
yes, i have personally seen scientific studies altered and manipulated to achieve a desired outcome.
yes, 40 years from now, the temps. are going to be approx. 5 degrees colder ( than the avg.)
yes, more than 70 percent of scientists and researchers have rejected the global warming theory.
yes, there is an enviromental agenda, ( and it is not for the benefit mankind or the enviroment ).
yes, globalism is "very bad" for "all of the citizens of the world".
yes, America should withdraw completely from the UN, and any and all of the resolutions, concessions, or agreements that have been made in the past.
yes, America should always remain as an independant soveriegn nation.
yes, i feel that Al Gore has lied to people on a global scale, and unfortunatly many believed him.
yes, global corporations are destroying the planet and putting the worlds populations at risk, but not how you may think, as the enviromental degradations are only a small part of the devastations they are causing on a global scale.
yes, carbon credits are just a convienient way of taking away your collective and individual rights, and are a means of striking down... "the natural rights of man".

* ( the above was from an article i did approximately 5 years ago, and every year since then the statements have been steadily vindicated, verified and validated ).

A corrupt political agenda done under the guise of enviromentalism, is still a corrupt political agenda !!!, reguardless of their good intentions !!!. Remember the road to hell is paved with the best of intentions !!!.
We all know that it is a Corporate controled, UN. directed, Globalist, Socialist take over of all the worlds resources !!!. We are not the corporation's, the government's or U.N.'s Property !!!, and we will not be controled as such !!!.
We are not all brain dead socialist, democrat, liberals !!!. My and my families Rights, Freedoms, Liberty, sustinence, and Survival are Not open to political negotiation, regardless of what party is in power !!!, and i will speak out against any and all threats to my family, or my country whenever i see it. Whether you like it or not !!!.

Now as far as the historical treasure in the Antarctic that i mentioned, it is a US government owned airplane from the 1930's, that has great historical signifigance. It is still government property and any attempts to make a recovery of it would be done thru a government funded expedition. As for the mineral resources (and even meteorites) in the Antarctic, aside from being logistally impossible to harvest in any worthwhile quantities, i think legally the area is off limits to any mineral exploration. otherwise the whole antarctic continent would be ringed with oil wells. as there is documented evidence of tremendous oil and coal reserves there.

I guess your rant is just starting. The first person to mention GW in this thread was not me, but you. Sounds like you have issues.

As for your opinion, you have not persuaded me.

The earth has always gone through hot and cold cycles. If you believe global warming is man made, I feel sorry for you. Most people that believe in man made global warming are vegetarians and whale huggers. :dontknow:

He's talking about the governments high frequency antenna field in Alaska . I think it is under the navy controll now. This is like acres of antenna transmitting high frequency energy into the upper atmosphere with the expressed purpose of altering the wheather. Kind of a secret project, hope I didn't spill the beans. Who' that knocking at my door ?----------Frank
