Far as I can tell this is legit.


"The Bureau of Engraving and Printing makes bills. The above answer is correct for modern bills, but up till 1945 the Treasury did print and issue $10,000 bills. The last ones were part of the 1934 series so they have that date regardless of when they actually were printed."

This may be 'TMI', but here goes:
Large size 10k Legal Tender Notes were issued in the Series of 1878; 4k were printed, none are known to exist.
Large size 10k Gold Certs were issued pursuant to the Act of March 3, 1863; none are known to exist today.
10k Gold Certs. were issued in the Series of 1870 and 1875; one is known to exist.
10k Gold Certs. were issued in the Series of 1882; none are known to exist; possible all redeemed.
10k Gold Certs. were issued int he Series of 1888 and 1900; all were redeemed or cancelled.
10k FRN Series of 1918; five are known to exist.
10k Gold Certs. of 1928 and 1934 were printed; either they wer not released or unknown today.
10k FRN Series of 1928 were printed and several are known to exist ($115-250k recent Red Book Value)
10k FRN Series of 1934 to 1934C were issued and currently fetch between $60k-95k in VF-20 to Unc.-63.

Some 10k bills used to be displayed in Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas. These notes were put up for sale about ten years ago and may (or may not) be for sale today.

There were also 42,000 $100k Gold Certs made to facilitate internal transactions with the government; the Treasury Dept. occasionally displays several.
As RH mentioned above, the Treasury prints and mints all paper currency and coins in circulation through the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the United States Mint. Specifically, the US Mint (I don't believe) prints bills, only the BEP.
