ok second time posting but thought this is where i should start so
hi, long time reader, first time poster here
i had a 3300 i bought new the day radio shack put em on the shelf
had it for about 6 months, and really didn't find too much interesting, and thought it was too
complicated to figure out
it sat in the corner collecting dust and a friend wanted it and offered me
300 bucks for it.. (i paid like 377.00 with the best batteries)
last week i got an old mercury outboard 4 hp for free
(unknown if ran good or not but did start)
so i posted it on craigsist for sale or trade for a decent metal detector
a day later i got a call, from a guy who said he had an older
bounty hunter (teasure tracker IV)
if i was interested he would give it up and 50.00 for the motor
so long story short he liked the motor, i liked the metal detector and off and
running we both were with our goodies
i have found more stuff in the first week with it than the entire time
of having my previous one
-------------------------------------------------
-i went out friday afternoon to a local recreation area, was sweeping along ,and found
a few newer coins, and a large piece of steel that was welding to something else long ago-
on my last find ,when i stood up, about 100 yards behind me on another hill was someone else metal detecting, of all the places i have been i have never seen another person detecting aside from the beaches
so the next day, saturday morning i went back to the spot i saw them at
only a little closer to the old stone walls that surround the location.. and i found a very very old tootsietoy co logging truck.cab, been there since new probly
the location dates back to the early 1800's and also was the location of a moved school house now at a new school location front yard
- i guess the metal detector i have now works, and it owes me nothing so far lol
the small lo$$ in the old one, the 50 bucks from the trade, and a metal detector i seem to be able to understand AND already found stuff..
priceless lol
hope to post a good discovery soon!

Yes Yes Yes, Wilkommen. Glad to see a new person in the hobby. I have a BH 3300 myself and the 1100 for my kid. Paid 130 bucks new for the 3300. It is a great machine. Don't have any complaints. Sounds to me like you have yourself a potentially good spot. There may be an old dump close by.

Welcome to the forum and hobby Ledfoot. Sounds like you both got a trade you were happy with so you can't beat that. I am glad the new detector seems to be one that you are happy with and that you are beginning to get finds with it.

Will be looking forward to your posts on the Finds of the Day section.

Wish you great luck in finding good stuff that you are happy with,
