Is there a market for this Whites Coinmaster?

I have this Whites Coinmaster "Precious Metal Locator" with a build code of 1972. It actually works well! It's complete except for missing an "O" ring between the shafts. Is there a market and what's a reasonable price? I'd like to sell it and see someone get some use out of it otherwise it's going to be put up on my husband's garage wall with all his collectibles.
    Thanks!

Did you? Do you remember what they were brand new? Were they a million bucks like when microwaves first came out??

If I remember correctly, it was in the neighbourhood of $225.00 to $250.00...... Not a lot of money by todays standards.... but back in those days, it was a very serious amount.

Hi Bev; There sure is. It is based on it's Nostalgia Factor and hence it's Collectability. I don't think there is any of us older Pro's who don't remember it and yep that many of us would love to have it back in our Collections ok. I think a fair price is frm $100 - $125 based on it's condition ok. I hope this helps. Good luck. PEACE:RONB

I would suggest that you place it on EBAY and set a reserve price of whatever is the lowest amount that you would feel okay with letting it go at----you may start with a reserve price of say 50 bucks and realize a decent profit from the auction---the main factor in such an evaluation is almost purely nostalgia-based----because usually the older detector is out of date and an example of older technology--this detector being an older TR is an example of that very thing---older out of date technology---newer VLF units can run circles around this old unit--GOOD LUCK WITH AUCTION OR SALE!

There is a Flea Market here in town that has one of those for sale for 50 Bucks.
I thought about buying it just to have but it would probably sit and collect dust, so I passed.
I'm with others here, put it on Ebay and see what happens.

There was one on there completed for only $32.00 I believe but it was untested and was missing something near the batteries compartment. Maybe I will give it a shot. It does work but I was told it only works up to 4 inches. Watch, I'll sell it, then regret it!
