"WHAT'S IN THE DIRT?"

in December i was digging in my lawn and dug an object that was still in a clump of dirt. i know it's kinda weird but i decided not to break the clump open to see what's in it, but instead decided to save it for a later time when i was just itching to go detecting but couldn't because of the snow, Now is that time, but first i'm NOT going to tell you the kind of signal it gives on my detector, but i would like if you to guess what is in the clump, and sometime i'll post a picture what is in it.

Re: "WHAT'S IN THE DIRT?"

Well the right side looks like a rock. But I'll assume it's dirt. Um what could it be? Wonder if I get multiple guesses? Ah what the heck, I'll just take multiple guesses.

Okay here's my guesses in no particular order:
* A piece of circuit board
* Six cents
* D-cell battery
* A piece of folded up strapping.
* Dog tag (the kind for dogs, not soldiers)
* Button
* Morgan dollar
* Costume jewelry
* Part of a Fountain Pen
* Diamond ring
* A piece of an aluminum can
* Your car keys that you lost last year.

Just a clump of dirt. Nothing inside. But I hope I am wrong and it's something good.
Can't wait to see the picture. :blob7:

Re: "WHAT'S IN THE DIRT?"

While on vacation back in the 1990's I was detecting near the beach boardwalk in Atlantic City N.J. and scooped out of the sand a black as coal lump that was about 2 inches long. It gave a perfect coin signal when sweeping my coil over it. When I got home I broke it open and out pops a silver rosie dime from the 1950's! So hopefully you'll have the same outcome....

i think if you thought it were gold or silver, you would have already checked it.
Im guessing a canadian copper cent, prob 1978.

Re: "WHAT'S IN THE DIRT?"

Since CanadianTrout has already said " pull tab ", I reckon
I better guess again. The F75 you're using has likely given
you a good idea, but with no clues given, my guess will be:

zinc penney
