Metal Detecters

Does any one know if there is anything I can do to my detector to make it search deeper.. Other than buying a better one. And something that won't cost me an arm and a leg??

Depends on the settings of the detector, if you have manual ground balance, yes you can make it go deeper. If you have a depth setting, then yes. Other than that don't think so. Detecting in all metal mode is rumored to go deeper than a higher discrimination mode.

Also make sure you coil is flat on the ground, don't hold it 4 inches until the soil because you don't want to get dirty. Make it dirty!
