Metal Detecting in southern New Mexico

Hello,, just another newbie here. I live in Las Cruces New Mexico and am looking for any MDers in this area. I have a Whites Spectrum that I am slowly getting use to. Just need more time with it..

My brother lives in Albuquerque, NM. He mainly hunts alone out in the desert for meteorites. He says it's fun and he doesn't expect to find much trash, but the meteorites are worth big bucks. He said he recently started using a Minelab Explorer SE. He says it's great.
