Iraqi Dinars - Really ??? ... C'mon help me out here !!!

Over the last two weeks or so , I have run into two different friends who were proclaiming
that investing in Iraqi dinars, is where it's at - Really ??? Even if they rename , readjust ,
re-evaluate , or re-denominate their old currency - does this guarantee a big payday for those
holding the older notes ? Please help me understand this ! Argentium.

Liftloop , Oh yeah ! I'm a believer in silver - smalltime- in terms of what I can come up with
but I coin roll hunt silver aggressively, metal detect whenever i can , and buy silver at spot or
below whenever i can . Argentium.

your friends are only 10 years too late and the re valuation of the Iraq currency has yet to happen.

Seriously, do you think that after ten years of being blown up, having their infrastructure demolished, and

a new round of sectarian strife and violence that the currency is due for an upswing in value?

stick with silver.

The old Iraqi money is worthless except as a suvenier. It would be a heck of a gamble to invest in dinars right now!

Iraqi Dinars - I'd suggest the rack of Lamb and Couscous

If a country is not too stable, how do you think their currency will hold up :icon_scratch:

Not too well :tongue3:

I had some Dinar I held for six years. I got in at 1470:1 and sold at 1170:1. Basically broke even with shipping. The ones that made money were the ones that bought at 4000:1.
I sold as soon as the SOFA agreement expired due to the negligence of the current Administration. With us pretty much out of there, the value isn't increasing any time soon. There is also strong talk about a 'zero lop' where they drop three zeros off the currency, essentailly rendering your invested moot.
