I am going to Key West the first week in November for the Meeting of the Minds. Are the beaches there OK to MT? I'll bring an Excalibur 1000, my first detector. I am a newbie to detecting, just retired and moved to Florida. Would love to get some hunting done between the pub crawling.

teklord,

Keywest is a coool place. Last time I was there I had my excalibur 800 with me. There is a public beach just to the east of the main drag called "Smathers Beach". It's a man-made beach but lots of people hang-in out there. It was a great place to detect! ::)

Be sure you go to the sunset festival, at Mallory Square. Local entertainers, etc etc. it's a fun evening to see all the freaks! :o
