Hey Dewe,

We actually gave 2 Excalibur's away at the event here at Kellyco. Minelab backpacks, Books, 1 Etrac, 1 705 Gold, 1 705, 1 505 and 2 Excaliburs. It was quite an event and we would love to do it again...

Jeff, I was there with my wife and three kids so every spare momment I had between hunts I was making sure my wife was not going to kill me for dragging her to AC for two days while I detected all day and she dragged a 6 month old, 2 1/2 year old and 8 year old all over the boardwalk by herself. It was quite the balancing act...by mid day Sunday she was done with it and those ticket drawings just keep on going...I thought a divorce might be in the making.

Over all it was a good hunt...I could have done without the foreign coins. I got 10 silver halfs...a few silver certs and $2 bills. A mini 24K St. Gaudens coin. Lots of wheaties, foreign coins (one turned out to be 50% silver but the rest was junk) and buffalo nickels. I got two large cents, a proof state quarter and the bag of swag. My daughter did the kid hunt which was well worth the $3 entry fee. It was her first time detecting and she was using my big old White's DFX with a floppy coil. She did well though with many foreign coins and a super soaker water gun which she gave to her little brother. She is a great kid. She also got a $25 gift certificate from Ron at the dinner. It will go towards a Ace 250 for her...I think she may be getting the bug and I will finally get my hunting buddy.

Sorry...on the way home it actually hit me that I did not look for you. Now that I see a picture I think you came down to the far side of the hunt field at least once to start a hunt. That is where i was focused since most people seemed like they did not want to walk down that far. One of the guys I know found two tickets in one hunt and won an E-Trac and Gold coin...what are the chances. I found 60 or so tickets through out the hunts and won nothing. All in the luck of the draw. Would have like to get an E-Trac.

I probably broke even on the actual hunt but between the room, meals and entertainment was down a few hundred. I did take some of Bally's money home on Saturday night. Played for 15 minutes and made $60, they gave us a blue tooth and they also took $12 of the bill at check out. Bally's Rewards was a nice bonus.

LOL if you count the silver Half & the silver dime, I may have won $15.00 & agree on the foreign coins.
They apparently bought cheap for the throw outs.

I lost $75 in the Slots & spent $175.00 on the Dinner& Hunts.

also spent over $100, on tickets, soda, coffee & Meals

was a very hectic weekend being I didn't sleep till sunday.

If I knew then, what I Knew now, would I repeat the weekend ? Yep.
as far as next year, if they do it again, probably not, but that's a whole year away. :laughing7:
& I Did enjoy the nightlife inside & Out 8-)

I started all my hunts to the right of the Beach bar so no I wasn't at the far end at all.
as everyone ran out to the middle when they blew the horn, I stood still, turned sideways & Hunted the edges.
when finds stopped, so did I :tongue3:

wow, I didn't see that N.J. that is downright scary.

Hunt was ok I guess. I am a VERY organized and punctual person. I didn't feel the hunt was either of those things so it got on my nerves quite a bit.
walked away with a silver half, $2 bill, custom full size sand scoop/shovel, minelab bag and a ton of coins. I also walked away with a few hundred of Bally's dollars to pay my weekend bill :headbang:

if they do this again, i would hope it is more condensed and in order. not to mention, end it before 3:30 on a sunday, that was a brutal drive home to have to wake up for work the next day, especially considering the day I paid I was told it would be no later than noon. I was not at all pleased to find out I was lied to.

I don't understand why they started at 8am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday. If your going to do that then reverse it so people have a little longer to get there the first day and are out earlier the second. Noon would have been nice since I had people waiting on me and it would have allowed for a little time spent with family or friends that were not detecting. Oh well.

I really went to try to win one of the many detectors and that did not work out for me. I don't really care for seeded hunts so I most like will not do it next year but for a hunt that large I don't think they did a bad job. I've run hunts that were 130-140 and those are a lot of work I can't imaging doing twice that amount.

Two police crusers & a woman on a 4 wheeler maybe ?

Personally I Felt completely safe on the Boardwalk.
The Crowd the came out at night, had allot of "Interesting" Personalities :laughing7:
& the One young very Intoxicated girl, who used My phone,
made me curious if I was getting it back, especially since her friends had phones :tongue3:
but hey, Was fun

2 Canadian tourists stabbed to death in Atlantic City - Philly.com

ATLANTIC CITY — The stabbing deaths of two Canadian tourists outside a casino hotel left tourism officials stunned and dismayed Monday, casting a shadow over the formal opening on Memorial Day weekend of the newest gambling palace and tripping up a $30 million-a-year campaign to rebrand and revive the sagging resort town.
The two victims, women ages 80 and 47, were stabbed and killed during a robbery Monday morning outside Bally’s Atlantic City casino hotel, just steps from where a police officer was sitting in a patrol car.
