New to the Hobbie but have a few great places to look for artifacts .
Well I have always wanted to get into using a metal detector so Im going out this weekend to a few places that have never had anyone looking on and it is on the chickamauga creek . I am looking for some tips and advice on making a new purchase for a new detector ?

I prefer Tesoro brand detectors, you might want to read up on them. Sounds like you have a great place to hunt. When you venture out keep yours eyes open, you might just find traces of the rock of chickamauga. But if you do bury it good cause it's might be more than just bother the ghost of John Bell Hood.

There was a battle with in 200 yards of this property if not on the property. My son is going to tag along with me tomorrow so who knows what we might find if anything but the land is 200 acres and has a ton of history . My long term goal is to find a confederate buckle.
