Some ones trash is another persons treasure.
I have been digging the local parks and come across a lot of pull tabs and aluminum cans. Yesterday when I stopped at a local pizza shop they had a Shriners pail with a bunch of pull tabs in it. I decided to pop out my phone and look up this program. The shriners collect pull tabs and then cash in the aluminum to help kids get medical care at the shriners hospital. Since I literally dig everything because I don't trust discriminating out metal. I think it would be a great thing if those of us who metal detect were to save the pull tabs and aluminum we find and instead of throwing it out donate it to the shriners hospital. We call it trash but to a kid with a medical condition that trash could help pay for much needed medical care. Just an idea I had.

I am going to start carrying a third bag with me just for the pull tabs. I figure even if I don't have any "great finds" that day, at least I can do something good with the trash I find. I normally just carry it with me and dispose of it. At least now that trash has a purpose and could help some kid. Thanks for the support guys.

Us metal detecting hobbyists can literally fund the entire system with the amount of pull tabs we find. Lol

Man I found this article while searching for how to send in pull tabs or for a donation location for shriners hospital so I can start collecting them.

I am about confused because I have heard of things like this before for our troops as well.

I am going to dig (no pun intended) a bit deeper into this because if there is a possibility of helping kids with can tabs I am gonna do it.

someone was collecting them in the breakroom at work last year. They said it was for childrens medical needs and their church had asked members to collect them.

If I were to go out detecting with hopes of finding pull tabs with my luck that would be the time I never found any.
