Relic Hunter & Raconteur Extraordinaire
Beach Detecting
Hey folks - I'm going to be in Hilton Head, SC late Oct, early Nov for a week or so and would like to do some metal detecting. I understand HH has some strict laws against metal detecting and was wondering about other beach areas close by - either North or South (but preferably North). I'm more interested in relic hunting than looking for jewelry, so any tips for spots in SC or NC would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

I take my detector every time we go to HH. I've never had anyone say a word to me about detecting the beach, I don't anticipate that you would have a problem as long as you stay on the public beaches.
