so why are political discussions so bad?

just wonderin'.

It is against our TN rules set by the owners of the site. The rule is there because this is a treasure hunting site, not a political site and in the past every time it was allowed it turned into a nasty mud slinging contest..............Just like in real life to keep things civil the two things you don't discuss at most family reunions is politics and religion...

There is a difference between a DEBATE and an ARGUMENT... just like there is a difference between CRITIQUE and an INSULT... just like there is a difference between CLASS and TRASH...

the unfortunate part is, that in life 'perception is reality' and most people have different degrees of it. All you have to do before you post a reply to something is think...just for a moment... 'how might they take this comment?'

I have back-spaced a few times in all my postings here and around the forums after I wrote something then changed my mind on it because it really came out wrong and not how I actually feel or I wanted to express my view on something.

The original post in this thread was clearly intended to create arguments, and therefor should have been immediately closed by mods as it is a violation of forum rules. "Don't attack, provoke, insult, or deliberately offend anyone." The OP even stated that he created this thread to provoke other members.

While the OP is correct that there are members who seem to do little more than try to "stir the pot" at every opportunity, creating a thread in attempt to provoke them only shows he is a member of the same group.

Jason original post did not violate our rules it named no individuals, he was talking about unnamed trouble makers.
