Coins buried flat. Kansas black soil, no mineralization, open area, no power lines. Soil packed tight.
Discrimination mode, Sensitivity highest possible, Ground Balance Auto. Fresh / new batteries in all units

Minelab 705 Gold pack with 5x10" 18.75kHz coil .........$729
Ace 250 with 5" x 8" Ace DD PROformance coil ............$332 ($212 plus $120 for dd coil)
Bounty Hunter Big Bud Pro (1987) with 7.5" coil .........$8 (garage sale)

.................Wheat Penny.....Quarter
Minelab.........6.25" ................6.5"
Ace..............6.50".................7.0"
Bounty.........7.0"...................7.0

All detectors correctly ID'd the coins. Minelab was best at telling coin depth. Depth readings were calculated when the
detector had a solid hit.

I have no opinion, just wanted to compare.

Nice comparison set-up. I've always wished MD reviews included a set standard as a baseline for the reviews.
