Hey guys I got a few flaks and some jewely I would like to melt down. Im on ebay right now trying to find a nice ceramic crusible.
The thing is, I dont know what flux to use. I have a few different kinds for my electronics but not sure what type gold uses.
I seen some videos where they add borax to the flux. So I bought some sodium tetrborax decahydrate. Just need to figure out the flux deal for it.
Another questions besides the type of flux. Will a wood stove get hot enough to melt the gold? I noticed my fathers wood stove got hot and melted one of the iron linings in the duoble wall in the back so I figure if it gets hot enough to melt itself it should melt gold right?
will to much heat crack my crucible?
