Purchase first dector

I'm looking into getting my first one I'm looking for land mostly and occasional beach in Florida if still legal , I don't want to get one and later have to upgrade . I was looking at garret ace 250 or should I save up to get the at pro ? Any thoughts also I would be needing a good pinpointer as well .

welcome aboard! I have am AT Pro and an Minelab Etrac, and garrett pro pointer. the at pro does a great job as does the etrac, there is just a big price difference. Try to go on trips with others and try out their different machines before you buy..
