does any Md manufacture sell a kids size detector besides bountyhunter?
i went ahead and bought the bountyhunter(its kinda junky), but i would like to find my six year old a kids detector that has alot of the features of a normal sized Md. my back up Md is a bountyhunter quickdraw II, i modified the shaft so it would be short enoughfor him, but its still too heavy.

Yeah, get the Tesoro compadre. Great beginning detector. One knob for power and disc level, so he won't get confused with lots of changes. Lightweight, and only takes one 9v battery. Might still have to shorten the rod a bit though. My son uses one, and the rod needs to be cut a bit.

Glad to see yet another Okie on here!

Daniel, I was in the same fix, I went to Walmart hoping to buy the Fun finder for 49 bucks and the sales associate told me Walmart could not keep them on the shelf! I had to spring another 50 bucks and get the Pioneer 101 ex.

I wouldn't have got this one, but Radio Shack was also sold out and it's getting close to Santa Day! I'm hoping he'll keep his interest in the hobby. ;D
