Driving home yesterday, there is what appears to be a big black beach ball running hell bent for leather down the side of the road towards me. I'm driving. Now we know beach balls do not run, so what is it? My first guess was right. This huge Tom turkey is beating feet running right towards the car along side the road. And what is he running from, I ask myself? Well, the obvious....two buck and 4 doe whitetail deer crossing the road to get to the other side. Gotta love nature.

Get out of the way LOL.. Up here in Pa. we live in an area full of elk... Well a big bull decided he wanted to stand in the middle of the road when me and the wife were heading to dinner.. She said get out and move him.... Yeah right.. I said we will just wait for him to move.. After he inspected the car he was on his way.. Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy what's in front of you... Cool story thanks for sharing..

Last thing I want to do is kill a "nature". Turkeys are one of my favorite birds, and now they are nesting again in my neighborhood after about a 200 year absence. The beach I visit has a bunch of cool birds. Arctic orange legged thinga-ma-jigs. Can't remember the name, but they aren't afraid of people.

I like wild turkeys too...sliced up, soaked in buttermilk, floured and fried.
