seeing that digging coins is good part of this hobby I thought I'd share what happened to me as a chilkd about 45 years ago. As a kid I walked across town and met a buddy and we were walking out of town to do some early fishing. We lived in a fairly small town in farm country. as we were walking down one of the last hills that had a street light before the road headed out of town, we saw the whole road down there just glaring like ice. Long story short..The road was just covered with old mercury dimes! all of them. We spent about 1/2 hour or more the two of us picking them up. I don't know what ever become of them as 'his' dad was going to figure out where they came from. We ended up so weighted down we just went back to his house with them and never fished. Gene
