Funny you should ask. I just got one last week, but I didn't dig it up. I bought a DVD off E-bay called "Diggin It", and the seller put one of those 1943 pennies inside as a free gift. It was a hidden cache, I guess? ;D

I found 1 in the wood chips. so it was probably robbed by a kid.

I found one many years ago (at least I think I did). I got permission to search a courthouse in the Texas panhandle, found several wheats, a couple of buffalos, then got a signal that was a bit strange. I dug it anyway, found a rusty disk. I compared it to one of the wheats I dug, and it was the same diameter. There were no details, I just assumed it was due to the fact of the size of it and I was not finding any other trash.

I have never found any in the ground but I have found a few in the water though. They were in hidious shape. I tried to clean the rust off and they just crumbled.

Finally got one. It was in a pocket spill with a few other wheats. I'll post a photo here in a bit...

I found one last year, but didn't recognize it, and threw it in with the other pennies to tumble. When I tumbled them some time later, I thought there was a dime mixed in. Nope, it was a steelie. Not sure where I found it, or what it rang as. I found it with a 250.

Thanks Jeff

I'll get a photo up soon. Sometimes when I'm not out digging frequently I get lazy with the photos. :-\

Here's mine...

Both found in holes with other wheats. The first one I found in about 1995 was fused to the other wheat. The other one I just found last month was a little "better" ::)
