The Ace will do reall good in Dry sand. you will have to cut the senstitivty down on the wet sand but enjoy have run is the main thing. I have seen were some people use the relic mode on the beach good luck

;D ;D ;D I also just bought my first metal detector the ace 250and as soon as it warms up a bit up here you can bet I will be out there for hours with extra batteries in my pocket and I hope my wife will put up with me but like they say ***Time away makes the heart grow stronger***I hope. ;)

I've never used mine at the beach, but your machine gobbles up coins really sweet. I can't see any problems with dry sand.
