I took part in the “Lost Treasure Weekend” hunt at the Blackthorne Resort in New York’s Catskill Mountains this weekend and had a blast! On Friday about 60-people hunted four old estates dating back to the 1700’s. They transported us on school buses, and provided lunch at a local firehouse. My finds from these un-seeded hunts on the first day included a 1942 silver quarter, and a really old silver wedding band.

On Saturday and Sunday, there were a total of three seeded hunts, where they planted quarters with numbers taped to them that they matched to prizes. I ended up with 14-prizes! This was my first ever seeded event with about 85 participants. It was a great three-day event and I got to meet a lot of old-timers and also hunt with a friend from Long Island that I usually beach hunt with. Great weather, good food, and a lot of Silver!
