Stopped by Aquia Church the other day in Stafford,Virginia. This church was est. in 1654 and has a-lot of history to it! There are carvings on the side of the church from Civil War soldiers and regiment numbers. 5th Texas, 9th New York, etc! Some of the tombstones here date back too late 17th/18th century. But the ones older than 1838, were brought to the cemetery from other parts of Stafford,Virginia in the 19th C. the first burial was conducted @ the church in 1838.
The church has a very haunted history in the early 1800s a young blond hair woman was found murdered there and they were never able to figure out who she was, she is been known to look out at you from the upstairs window. During the Civil War two Confederate soldiers broke into the church to find a place too sleep They fell asleep in the pews of the church, and woke to the sound of footsteps. They searched the church, but they were completely alone. Just as they were about to settle back down for some much needed rest, they heard someone- or something- whistling "The Campbell's are Coming". Once more they got up to search for the origin of the sound, but no one was in the church other than them. Sure that someone was playing a trick on them, one of the soldiers opened the door to peak outside, just in time to see the union army marching straight towards the church! As we were leaving I took a picture of the front of the church and decided just too zoom in on the photo and see if i could see this so called woman ghost that has been seen looking out the window @ people and it probably is just a reflection but it sorta looks like a ghost, the image is from the full blown picture of the church first photo but zoomed in on the 2nd floor 2nd too left window.
