These digging shows must really be hot or something.? Just read on @#$** that we have another show coming out in a couple weeks. This ones called "dig Fellas" with Bill Ladd due out Sept 4. Im optimistic about this one as I have always enjoyed his field tests, DVDs and written stuff for Eastern & Western Treasures. Diggers is enjoyable but I think Bill and his buddy have alot more experience and hopefully not as goofy. Lets hope this is a good one for the hobby.

Cheeze and Rice...... going overboard on these shows. And none of them really do show the hours that we really put in detecting, the bugs, snakes, critters, and nasty people. They really don't show the real detectorists that we are.

How about reviewing the show after it airs and be a little optimistic. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Second season of diggers started last week. Definite improvement from first session, but still some stupid overacting/reacting to targets.

I enjoyed the second half of the one show last week,
where they searched the Bonnie & Clyde shootout site 8-)
I would have loved to dig a few Bullets there,
Especially the ones that could have come from B & C .

That's History

If I was around back then, I would have hid them out :laughing7:

I'll be watching on Sept. 4th

shows seem to be improving as we get away from that wrestler debacle. I wouldn't call the diggers or these guys idiots. they are doing something right. Wouldn't any detectorist jump at the chance to try a TV show? Guess the TV people are looking for more odd ball characters. Boring doesn't sell I suppose. Will be interesting.

I've watched Bills videos and he is a legit guy with a lot of experience. He and his buddy Howard get super excited about their finds and I love the enthusiasm.
I'm looking forward to this show. I think it's going to kick ass on the others.

I may or may not be in the minority, but I enjoy the Diggers show. I too enjoy their enthusiasm. Sure it's over the top. If it wasn't, it would put me to sleep.....like golf and Nascar. These guys have the same goofy humor as my brothers and I do. Makes it fun. Yes, they can dig some pretty ugly holes, and that's not a good thing, but it's usually in fields where it doesn't matter. I'm not at all uptight about these shows. You have to watch them from what they are.....entertainment.
Looking forward to seeing what DigFellas is all about. I haven't watched any of this guy's videos. I'll look them up.

HH everybody! !

Yeah I have to agree. Yes, the show is a bit over the top but I do not think the show would have any sponsors, who pay the bills, if you just watched two folks walking around in a field digging up bottle caps. Yes, the hobby is a lot more challenging and much more technical than is shown. I almost turned off the show last year but I guess they are growing on me, ...... BABY!

For those of you who have been detecting a long time..... Did you ever think you would be even talking about the pros and cons of metal detecting TV shows? Think about it? Criticize but be kind....it's a start, and I might be wrong, but I suspect those of you who are being so critical would jump at the chance to be on one of them. Just saying...

I'm not sure which of us have been at this longer Dick, You or I,
(perhaps it's a tie :laughing7: ) mid to late 60's for me.
however In all Honesty, I will probably Enjoy this Show,
as long as he Doesn't yell at the top of his Lungs, & dig
clean $10,000 Relics every week)

however No I do not think I would jump at the chance to be in their Shoes.
In their Sites, Yes, but not in their place.

Although I consider my self Honest & Generous ,
I would not want to purposely put myself into a spot
where I must Turn over all Or the best finds I make to someone who may
sell or hide them away in a Drawer
till they die & their relatives throw them away.
just for the privilege of being filmed digging them up.

Sorry if it ruins any ones image of me,
But I do not want to be considered that Saintly.

I do consider myself a Treasure Hunter after all,
(Ka$h or personal Karma :laughing7:)

So when I do give things to Home Owners or Local historical Societies,
It's done by my choice with Pride not Obligation :unhappysmiley:

Yes they are being Paid, Probably very well, But that makes what they do
Work
( WORK !:(???

Not a Hobby (fun)
