I had one that I gave to my brother,he liked it,but he doesn't collect coins.I find them kind of gaudy. Here's one on Ebay that sold for $20.51,so maybe the color helped this one.

Understand paint remover. Just concerned it would be too caustic and damage the surface of the coin. Just curious if anyone had removed like substance before.

giving it some thought, what wouldn't be harmful if I tried it? Found the solution. Soaked the coin in nail polish romover. Removed everything colored, and returned the coin to it's original state.

Not acetone, just regular nail polish remover I bought at Wallgreen's. Figured it wouldn't hurt skin so why not try it on the coin? Also found out the colorization was just a decal with a coat of some kind of varnish over it.
