Should I be hearing an audible threshold tone On Ace 250?

I have always been told its best to have a low hum in your headset. I have this with my GTI2500 but it seems the Ace 250 is silent.

The ace is a "silent search" machine, meaning it does not have a threshold sound. In detecting mode it will only ring if it detects something in the ground. Although when you use the pinpointing feature the machine goes into "true all metal" mode and has a threshold, you can hear it when holding down the pinpoint.
