There 2 different machines,
It depends on what you want to do, like beaches, gold...The infinium is a PI (pulse induction) machine, It will find deeper treasure but you'll dig more trash because you can't discriminate junk out as well as the DFX, plus the infinium is waterproof.

I heard from a reliable source,that there have been Garrett Infinium's,being returned,Was interested in buying one,instead purchased a Minelab Excalibur 1000,Main area of detecting,East coast of Florida beach.Ronald99 ???

The garrett is very sensitive and can take some getting used to. Like the other post said it doesn't miss a thing, I've had to dig 12 to 18" only to find a tiny fish hook, bobby pin, or bread bag wrapper. While it does have a discrimination feature, it still finds junk. I dig all my hits anyway.
