Woke up this morning to NO WATER! Apparently my pipes froze up overnight! This is an absolute first for me! Not to mention my wife was REAL happy too! It got down to 14 deg. last night, almost unheard of in my neck of the woods! They finally thawed out about 11:00 am. Damn polar vortex! Sure wish we could get some of that global warming right bout now :laughing7: Sorry guys, just had to vent! *** mr.b

Be thankful they did not burst, that's a much worse headache.
Let the hot and cold have a slow drip all night, that should keep them from freezing at that temp point, faster drip when colder.
Mike
Man, I was super worried about busted pipes! My house is on a concrete slab, so the pipes run overhead and down the walls. I can just picture laying in bed and having a cold, wet, ceiling fall down on me and the wife!

I know how you feel. It is cold cold here in Ohio single digits I have left my water running with a slow drip for the last week and they are still calling for another week of this crap. I can not wait for this spring to get here. Stay warm and leave that water dripping at night.

There are some great benefits to us outdoor folks no matter which hobby you enjoy, this severe cold will really effect the annoying/dangerous pests that attack us, be it less mosquito's, less ticks and chiggers, spiders or whatever else you can think of that wants you served up buffet style heh.
I am thankful for the cold for that benefit.

Mike

Global warming crowd must be on Hiatus, strangely quiet...or maybe they're buried under all this non-existent snow?

Anyone have a tank with a flame thrower? I would like to do a little MD'ing.

It has been cold but I had a premonition that the weather will get warmer in 62 days. Then we can all get out and dig the stuff again. Maybe sooner.:laughing7:

Just saw the weather forecast for my area. It's going to be 60 today, and a winter storm warning for Tues. and Wed. CRAP!

We have a 'high' of 20 here in the midwest possible today...windchill in some areas is -40. Right now it's a sweltering -9. Let's talk about hating some cold shall we lol. As I tell people, I'd like it to remain around 20 so I can take one of my winter coats off. :P

Ya you know it's bad when we're celebrating 20's as being "warm"!!!!
Makes me wonder what we will do when the true summer gets here, probably fry like bacon in a pan!

We had a one day thaw here, but not on a day I could detect!:BangHead:

Got lucky so far, no busted pipes yet! Minus three here in Pittsburgh today, burrrrrr. Maybe I will clean my machine and take inventory in order to be ready for Spring. OK, you caught me as I have already done it three times this week and it is only Tuesday. If anyone has any connections please make Spring come early!
