I have a 1972 Lincoln Cent with a possible doubled die obverse. I need some opinions on it. Other pair of eyes can catch different things. I tried my best to get very close up pictures of it. That was very tidies! On 1972 Lincolns DDO you need to look for a tiny gouge near the edge above the "D" in "UNITED" as a die marker. As you can see from the image, I can see something on on the edge of the "D" (Black arrow points to that). If this is a doubled die obverse it is worth about $500 in EF-40 or so.

Also the "1972" looks odd. Maybe some of the worn is making it look odd. I have compared another 1972 Lincoln and it is not has bold.

What do you think? Is this a doubled die obverse?

Sorry, it looks just like a regular penny to me. But there is a coin board on Tnet, so you should try posting there.

Thanks! I've looked over it again and I think its just the worn making it look like a DDO. I can always take it to a coin dealer and get it doubled checked. Always check your 1972 Lincoln's you just might have a DDO.
