    JIM FIELDING

CACHE HUNTING: TIPS, TECHNIQUES, AND TALES

A little different flavor of "candy for the treasure hunting mind". Join me as BEYOND SIGHT AND SOUND heads back to Florida to speak with long time fellow hunter Jim Fielding. Jim's time of almost 50yrs. in this great hobby has given him many different experiences and he loves to talk shop! A long time member of the CFMDC (Central Florida Metal Detecting Club). Jim has also written a number of articles over the years. Join us as Jim talks about Cache hunting. The vast Majority of caches were secreted away in easy to remember or recover places so that they were both hidden yet gave the cache holder a a means to access their cache if need be that was out of prying eyes. Tune in as we speak about such things as "Line of sight or recovery", meaningful landmarks, post hole banks, wire banks, and even how the use of UV (black light) can be a handy tool in the search for some of these caches we may like to search for and possibly recover. Call in and add your thoughts. Tune in folks! We hope to hear from you!

Leighton Harrington
A HUNTERS VERSATILITY
Many of us have been told before "Why waste your time there?...It's hunted out.". We also know that in those places even though finds may be slim at times there are still finds to recover! Sometimes you have to be very thorough. Other times it's just as simple as employing a different technique or gear. In this great hobby you must learn not only to be diligent but also to be versatile If the ground is froze maybe you head for the beach, maybe you head for the water, possibly the woods if it isn't frozen yet. The point is that to be as prepared as we can for any hunting situation. We may carry and use all sorts of different types of gear as the situation dictates. Therefore we are more versatile hunters. Join me as I speak with Mr. Leighton Harrington on this topic and others. Leighton has had more than 40yrs in the hobby and has done quite well for himself over the years. He knows the value of being a versatile hunter as do many of us and he's a great guy to speak with when you're talking shop. Tune in and catch some interesting topics of conversation that may cause you to look at some things a bit differently or even give you a couple of ideas that you may not have thought about. Call in and add your thoughts. Tune in folks! We hope to hear from you!

WHAT MACHINES ARE YOU USING AND WHY?

[h=1]What machines and equipment are you using and why? For many of us our area or style of hunting may dictate the type of machines and equipment we choose to use. Join in on a conversation about these topics and more! The phone lines will be open for you to share your thoughts. Also with this show now running for over a year (That's just awesome!) as things are moving forward there are some interesting things on the way including some great future guests and even some changes to the format a bit. Well that's the way we like to roll here at BEYOND SIGHT AND SOUND as well! We love sharing things with all of our good friends...You!, the always appreciated listener! After all it is radio for you...the listener. With that in mind those of you who have listened to the show for any length of time know that we are always passionate about the hobby. Walking tall, standing proud, and doing the best we can. Most importantly doing things the right way and enjoying this great hobby. Some would say that we're even a bit hardcore about the hobby. Tune in tonight as some of the shadows are revealed about upcoming announcements that you WON'T want to miss! Mixing things up and keeping people guessing! Here at BEYOND SIGHT AND SOUND things are about to change in a good way. Check out the announcement as we really start to get HARDCORE! Don't miss this one folks! Call in and add your thoughts. SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL!!!

Sat., Feb. 28th, 2015...8:00 PM Eastern Time... BEYOND SIGHT AND SOUND....with Josh Kimmel and Co-host Kenny Moore
JOSH AND ABBY SILVA

Folks...it is an absolute honor to bring you this news! It's time for a Saturday Night Special... Josh Silva (sentinel on the forums) and his wife Abby are quite possibly the most WELL KNOWN husband and wife digger team in the hobby! With their passion for history and great personalities how can anyone resist the opportunity to listen to their experiences as they sit down and talk shop. Josh actually got his passion for history at a very early age going out as a young child to look for artifacts. A grandfather who was a well known bottle digger and an uncle who is an archeologist, he chased history all his life you could say and even achieved a degree in history. His passion (or sickness as some of us refer to it) stays with him as he continues his now more than 20yrs in the hobby of relic hunting and better yet!...He enjoys his time in the hobby not only with his friends but with his wife Abby who is a very respectable relic hunter in her own right! With a little over 10yrs in the hobby herself she is very knowledgeable in the hobby and wise in the ways of the coil herself! You've seen them on the TV series of DIG WARS and even heard them on The Relic Round up and now they sit down and talk shop on BEYOND SIGHT AND SOUND! One thing is for sure! A combination like this can only be a great thing! As a team or individually they are both very well respected hunters and always bring their A game! They love to talk about the hobby and now is your chance to sit down with them. While we're waiting feel free to check out the DIG WARS episodes as well as IRONCLAD DETECTORS and the CS RELIC FORUM! You don't want to miss this! Tune in folks! We hope to hear from you!

RESEARCH: HOW? WHEN? WHERE?

One of the most important assets or tools available to us in metal detecting is research! Research can be the key to finding that great site to hunt or even helping narrow down an area when you think you're on a good site but something doesn't seem right. Not only does it prove to be valuable for finding different sites but it is equally as valuable for identifying our finds that we make. Sometimes we research on our own.sometimes we may help others with some research. Join myself and Kenny Moore as we open the lines to discuss this wide ranging topic and hear your thoughts as well! With the technology that is available to us in this day and age we are better armed now than ever before but that does not mean that we should forget the other avenues of research available to us as well. I'm certain that we will not be able to cover all the thoughts and ideas with one show and this topic will be re visited again. As things are starting to warm up and we will be out hunting more we need to get our research in check for the beginn ing of the hunting season. Tune in to hear what should be some great tips, techniques, and valuable information. Don't miss it and be sure to share your thoughts with us as we cover this excellent topic! Tune in folks! We hope to hear from you!

FMD has their rules as well and in fact they can be very anal about things. Screwed up a sale on me but was my fault for not understanding their rule they placed then took away then put back. Rules are rules though but exceptions can be made I think.

FMD nailed me because I lost my account info and had to start fresh back in December and I just tried to sell a detector and they removed it because my account isn't 6months old and have 200 "worthy" posts even after explaining that I lost my info they didn't care. That ticked me off. TN is a great forum but as you know nothing is perfect so we learn to deal with them as I will on the other forum but TN is home base for me even if most of us are nuts including myself
