There could have been people asking but it wasn't me.
They DO like to maintain control here of the all that grows, floats, or walks.

As for the mere $100 bribe...or..uh... hush money...I have a whole lot of pop tops, some are shinny, and a few are colorful. About the uh..bones...I put them back, it was a hamster.

For the $100, I accept paypal

Yes, we can not change the past. But it seems to be a snow-ball reaction. The minute a single place gets these assertions (whether or not true, whether or not enforced, etc....), then the minute such a notion gets going, then guess what ? Skittish folk who read it, promptly run out and start making phone calls, knocking on doors, sending emails , asking on forums, etc ... (hey, after all, you "can't be too safe"). But .... it becomes the self-fulfilling phenomenon

Sure, maybe you and I weren't the ones who swatted hornets nest 20 or 30 yrs. ago. And sure, maybe it WAS some bored archie .... walking down the beach .... who thought "oh no, they might find something old" . Hence making a rule that had nothing to do with people grovelling.

Who knows. But yes, we can't change the past.

When they start selling invisible paint, or suits, maybe we won't be as noticeable. Then we can go around collecting our little treasures and the ton of trash that goes with them.

I have some old screw caps...the detector says they "may" be quarters!

As long as they aren't over 50 yrs. old. If they ARE, then my extortion bribe cost just increased to $200 . Muhahaha

Getting pricey! I'm sure I can come up with handfuls of newer ones.

Who knows what goes on in the heads of people that make laws like this.. Do they not understand the beaches belong to the people.

Yes they do on certain days in Nov. or when their e-mail is suddenly "flooded" with protests from the normally invisible population.
They are so focused on the "greater good" they are doing, they forgot to check and see if it's actually "any" good to anyone but themselves.
So we remind them once in a while.
