Hobby placer miner needs detectorist's help please.

Our first claim is so small scale, we don't even have a sluice yet, we don't plan on running that much material. In our area it's mostly small flour type gold (so we do have a Gold Cube), but I'm still keeping my eyes open for a nugget. I do love to dig a couple of buckets and go and classify them (1/8" mesh) on the spot. It gives me a chance to sit and rest, talk with the gang and then I go dig a couple more buckets.
But then I saw this video on Youtube.

Are pin pointers really that good now? Why can't I just use a pin pointer in my classifier (plastic)?
What's the best pin pointer for my purposes? The Minelab Pro 25 seems pretty sensitive, but the Garrett Pro is more my price??
