The best place in America for metal detecting?

HI; Higgy and BIGWAVDAVE both have good ideas. To me it is almost anywhere in New England but my favorite would be the Boston Commons. It dates to thev1630's and has had literally non stop use since. The original surface of the Boston Coommons is now 4' - 6' deep and has turned yellow. In know because I worked on a dig there. The stuff is "everywhere. PEACE:RONB

When they were digging the duck pond they were uncovering 17th century stuff,delftware,bottles etc., of course it was all broken and not saved,they smashed it all.

Unfretted access to Victorio Peak with plenty of explosives and heavy excavation equipment.

The surrounding area has battlefields that would be more productive.

Im very happy right here in New Mexico. Where ever I can.
