I talked to his Great Grand daughter about a year ago that wrote 3 books about him She said he change his name and live in the Bellfall Tex area till he died of old age.

Jesse was first buried on his parents homestead located east of Kearney, Missouri. His Mother still lived in the home. She wanted him buried there so she could watch over the grave. She was afraid that grave robbers would dig up his body and exhibit it at public fairs.
Following her death and while Frank James was still alive, the body was dug up and transferred to the cemetery in Kearney. Franks son continued living at the old James homestead. When Frank died his wife had his body cremated as she feared someone would dig it up and exhibit it. She had the ashes stored in a vault in a bank in St. Louis. When she died many years later she was buried in her family's cemetery, along with Frank's ashes, located near Truman Library in Independence, Missouri.

The Cemetery BK is referring to was originally a Civil War Battlefield. VERY AWESOME! The battlefield was just that...A Field! So many dead that they just made a cemetery. Permanent Gravestones erected after the war are Extremely Detailed listing which unit, rank etc on those killed. Massive amounts of men have either the same day of death or within two-three days after the battle. It is a large Public Cemetery Now still with the original old rock wall around it and a funeral home on the grounds. Great Place for a walk if you like history.
